Miss Maria

Maria Escamilla-Behringer is the Director of Ten Feet Tall Dance Studio. Maria has 25 years of dancing experience and 20 years of teaching dance. She began her dance training under the direction of Yanelda Yzcoa, where she learned how to teach and instruct dance. Maria became certified by Dance Educators of America (DEA) and Dance Masters of America (DMA). She participated in multiple dance competitions in team, solo and also choreography, where she received state and national awards in Jazz, Hip hop and Tahitian dance. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, and now works at FWISD as a school nurse. She also has a YouTube channel where she teaches dance called All About Dance. Recently, Miss Maria got her certification in Acrobatics Arts. She is very passionate about teaching dance and would love to keep sharing her love for dance.

Miss Carolina

Carolina Escamilla is the Artistic Director of Ten Feet Tall Dance Studio. She began her dance training under the direction of Yanelda Yzcoa since she was 6 years old. She competed multiple times throughout her beginning years which led her to win state and national championship titles in the genres of Latin Rhythms, Hip Hop and Tahitian. Years later she started to train professionally under the direction of Kihyoung Choi in Movers Unlimited Touring Dance Company, where she attended the Palm Desert Choreography Festival and the American College Dance Association Gala. She earned her BFA in Dance at Sam Houston State University in Spring 2022. Carolina keeps training professionally with Movers Unlimited Touring Dance Company and taking classes with professionals all around the world. Her passion for teaching dance keeps growing and she is very excited to see all of her students keep loving dance forever like her!

Miss Catherine

Catherine Golden is a dancer and educator born and raised in DFW. She started dancing in 2004, with the majority of her training being at Denton Ballet Academy under the instruction of Eldar Valiev. There, she had opportunities to compete in YAGP, a prominent ballet competition, and to perform in Festival Ballet of North Central Texas’ The Nutcracker. Most of her professional training has come from Texas Woman’s University, studying to earn a BA in Dance. During her time at TWU, she continued her studies in ballet, while also becoming proficient in modern dance. Currently, she is dancing with Movers Unlimited Touring Dance Company and receiving instruction from Dr.Kihyoung Choi. Catherine has 3 years of experience teaching children ages 5-9, and loves to teach dance to people of all ages. She is delighted to be a part of this community and hopes to bring joy through dance.

Miss Emily

Emily Reyes started dancing at the age of 3 doing Ballet Folklorico, which is Mexican folk dancing with ballet characteristics. She’s performed all around Texas and also competed in numerous dance competitions. She started her ballet and modern training when she was a freshman at Arlington Heights High School, but she began professional training in the year 2020 under the direction of Kihyoung Choi at TCC Northeast. She auditioned for the pre professional company Movers Unlimited Touring dance company and made it and is currently still in and continuing her dance training in Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop , Jazz and more. She firmly believes in the transformative power of dance and the ability to convey emotions and stories through movement. As she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her dance career, she is filled with enthusiasm and a deep desire to inspire and share her passion for dance with students and fellow dancers alike.
